My visit to the only rat temple, maa Karni of Deshnok, Bikaner

It was thrilling to the core.
It was my first visit to any magnificent temple like this. I got this opportunity as part of Abhivyakti evam Pratibha shivir ( camp) organized for 10th-12th state merit students by RBSE board, Ajmer. Fortunately they selected Deshnok ( Abode of maa karni) for their camp for students of Bikaner division .
The thing about the temple is , no matter where are you standing , walking or sitting, there is at least one black rat ( big one ) near your feet. Rat population is like that here, u won't believe but u can't take feet off the floor if you feel too unpleasant to be touched by those big black rats. So you will be walking in the funniest way for the first time in life.
& Common public belief says , you must offer an artificial rat to mother Karni if you accidentally kill a rat while walking. Also if you see a white rat ( called 'kaba' with love) then u r super fortunate to visit Deshnok, You are free now , maa Karni will make you dissolve when time comes.
The thing that surprised me most was, rats were running all over the place, walls, pillars, inside maa Karni's abode, on roofs, doors, windows, over idol of maa Karni …
but none was crossing the outer door of the temple, rats come running towards the main door & go back inside the temple.
It's said, maa Karni saved Maharaja Gangasingh from tiger, tore apart the tiger .She appeared before the public for the first time when it happened.
I must give some visual experience to u of this exuberant abode of mother Karni.
It's a must visit if you happen to be in Bikaner.
Jai maa Karni
