On wasting time

Image
I am yet to find an optimal way of estimating how much one should regret on the time he 'wastes' a day.  You don't waste much time on daily basis? Sachchi? Like snacking on social media, YouTube for 2 minutes (of course it gets elongated to half an hour) or arguing with your taau on how dumb & superstitious most people around you often are...or  thinking about how beautiful you looked in that pic 4 yrs ago...or re-reading that insignificant wtsp chat with a stranger that has 0.0001 probability of encountering you again in future.. Or reading this nonsense on my blog? Is it a 'total waste'? No, it's the process from which the new ideas, imaginations, plans & dreams emerge. From this random purposeless 'snacking'. But as far as your near future-goal/ plan / determination is concerned it's almost a total waste.  I am in 02550, hoping to reach Kamakhya within 5 hrs, to complete my last 3.5 months of master of physics at IITG.  New Jal...

SG quotes

Hundreds and thousands of living beings meet death at every moment, yet the foolish man thinks himself deathless and does not prepare for death. This is the biggest wonder of life. (-Death: An Inside Story) The fear is simply because you are not living with life, You are living in your mind. (- Mystic's Musings) You have come here to avoid life or to experience it? - Death : An inside story The most beautiful moments in life are moments when you are expressing your joy, not when you are seeking it. Sex in the body is fine. Money in the wallet is fine. It is only a problem when they enter your mind. If your body goes in search of a relationship, we call this sexuality. If your mind goes in search of relationships, we call this companionship. If your emotion goes in search of relationships, we call this love. If your energies go in search of relationship, we call this yoga. (-Life and Death in One Breath ) If you think hundred percent logically, there is really no possibility of li...

What sucks about being a man?

Image
You are in a real hurry for whatever reason. But you also gotta pee. You walk towards the place. And in a hurry, you're taking the thing out & something down there hurts. Sucks like nothing else. Got it? No... Sometimes, some live pubic hair ( a bit longer ones) get trapped under your foreskin (s omehow) & they rest there in the contracted state of the system. Now, you're taking the system out in haste. And these thin threads of keratin ( hair) rub against your softness. It should hurt…. & It does. You realize this within milliseconds and then slide the entire foreskin backward & liberate the poor guys. Only now can you release the chemicals. And all this jaddojahad takes 2 seconds extra…which you definitely don't like. One more thing that sucks about being born like this is you need to adjust the thing in different orientations at different instants of time, especially when u sit in one posture for long hrs. At any time, it can say, “Let me rest on the lef...

Some unpopular opinions I hold

Image
I see myself changing my opinions about the same things many many times over the years. That's why , perhaps, I never hold strong opinions on anything. Talking to my friends, teachers here & people at the village I see the following ones as somewhat unpopular. Will try to add more when comes to mind. • I used to believe, human sex too has very little to do with emotional & psychological side of the being like any other mammal. It's fundamentally just physical. Most people are just under cultural/ social pressure when they don't admit pure anamalistic/ wild nature of human sexual desire.  But no, my opinions have changed. I don't think you can divorce the sexual encounters from the humanity, emotions and feelings of your partner. He/she isn't like a sweet that your tongue can have taste of whichever way you like. There comes the 'humane' part of our seemingly anamalistic sexuality. Your sexual partner (given that he/she has gone intimate with you to t...

Dark side of PGs, flats and brokers in New Delhi

Image
This one is about the brokers & flat owners there. Summers 2018. Meetesh and I needed a place to stay during summer vacations as we had joined a coaching for JAM. Our PG closed its mess until 19th July and was charging much higher for the damn June & July. We decided to go for a flat or a room thinking we could manage with tiffin food. Ended up talking to a nearby broker. Neither liked the room that he showed nor agreed on the monthly rent. He offered with 1 or 2 more options. I politely disagreed each time, “ Nhi Lena sir , itna mahanga.” Now suddenly, this guy offered ( atleast in 'talk') me a room in his own house at Model Town at much cheaper monthly rent, food and also promised to drop me at coaching in GTB Nagar daily! And it was becoming difficult to stop him. First I was puzzled. Then I got a glimpse of my future with him & a picture emerged. So this was it. This could have become the darkest side of Delhi in my graduation . I found myself somewhat angry aft...

Premature ejaculation ( in men) : जल्दी क्या है??

Image
Not an expert but answering to the best of my knowledge, experience and understanding. ( So correct me.) Most men who believe they ejaculate premature, aren't suffering from clinical premature ejaculation . Yes, if you last one minute+, it's not premature ejaculation and can easily be extended upto 10+ minutes or even an hour by little bit of psychological training and lo wering the excitement level. Give up the idea ( and the parallel imagination) that things should go the way they go in porn. Coz porn is a fake world but you are real , your penis is real ( just check!). Do you drink water imagining how beautifully somebody else drank special kind of water in style from a golden glass on the other day (in a movie)? No. When you are thirsty and water is available, you just drink it gracefully. For the pleasure of it, you don't drink it too fast for it might spill all over or go down your arteria to chock the respiratory inlet. Body has enough inbuilt understanding ...

How common is Brahmacharya today in India?

Image
It's not anymore. If 2 out of 100 people consciously take up brahmacharya , I could still call it common. But probably 2 in 5000 people here live brahmacharya in my rough estimation ( correct me). To be frank, we don't have much of social support & acceptance left for brahmacharis. And I find it quite hypocritical. People worship Mahavira , dedicate bhajans to him, talk about his life in sathsangs for what he was. But they don't want their child to become a Mahavira . They want to marry them to a right match at right place on time … to ensure the security & stability of their future. I tend to assume that the few brahmacharis that have happened in this generation, ( majority of them ) were strong/ rebel enough to go against their parents' & social norms & expectations and left the family/ village to join some spiritual organisation. Within the family/ village I don't see much of possibility for them. I don't know much about the environment in...

Boy asks, How do I control random erections?

Image
The problem lies in you trying to control them. Oh bhaai, erections are something that happen to a man, everybody knows. Nothing to feel embarrassed here. Nothing to be ashamed of. Even if anybody notices your random / casual erection, I hope they aren't aliens and they know it's ‘just an erection'. Erection can happen to a regular man (not talking about sages!) anywhere at any time. It just needs one mental visual out of your memory and imagination, just one moment, which isn't 100% in your control. What's in your control: To sustain (or intensify) the erection or not. If it's unwanted erection, notice it & just forget about it. It will die down its natural death within seconds. Yeah, don't worry about people noticing it. The more you pay attention to the erection & sensation, the more excitement it will build up which is totally unwanted. A tip here: If you fail to calm it down (perhaps coz you kept imagining something or kept paying attention to t...

What made me an EXTROVERT?

Image
In my case, I think, it was the college. College has made me a lot more extrovert than I was during my senior secondary. In my sr secondary school we didn't have many opportunities to converse with girls or people from very different background. The people in my life were largely northern Rajasthani boys. In college, initially my interest in sciences and then in politics, music, others’ culture, rural women's issues and spirituality made me converse with the people that I never had courage to talk to otherwise. I developed this thing of debating in open (with whoever in my friend circle I found was free) on variety of issues, theories, philosophies, ideologies & lifestyles. I love it when something that I considered strong, true or good is broken with arguments by the person in front. And in parallel, I see, all this revealed some tiny secrets of mine to the people in my circle & I no more was worried about small things about me going public or people labeling me as cer...

Why is peace so important for human lives?

Image
I want you to imagine yourself as an amateur singer, practising in your bedroom the new lyrics that happened to you just yesternight… OR as an entrepreneur making plans for the new start-up that you and 4 of your friends have decided to jump into, after much thought, discussion and research… OR as a farmer feeding your bull/ camel and buffaloes in the evenings after returning from your farms … OR as a scientist sitting in your lab trying to estimate the damage to ecosystems due to climate change, pollution and dense human footprint… Suddenly you hear a loud noise outside, a disturbing one: loud voices, abusive words, … sounds like a horrible clash between 2 groups,…painful cries… and oh no! This one voice is of your brother's. But how can he be .. ? No. Le t me go and … * The gate is blown open and a crowd is approaching you by then.* You can hardly see , listen or think anything with clarity… Here is a little more real thing from your regular life: Your mother or brother or your...

What is a waste of time ?

• Listening to 'motivational speakers' for 'motivation' is a waste of time. • Watching Bollywood movies to know what's true love, is a waste of time. • Reading Swara Bhaskar's tweets is a total waste of time. • Searching for jio network at random places to get those few msgs is a waste of time. • Arguing with a fanatic, telling 'yoga is not about religion' , is a waste of time. • Watching Salman's movies to get some new perspective of life is a total waste of time. • Listening to Rahul Gandhi's opinions on certain things is a waste of time. • Uploading a meme/joke & waiting for reactions throughout the day is a total waste of time. • Reading Amar Gupta / Deepa in pursuit to learn Physics is a waste of time. • Waiting for a relatively cool day in Churu is a waste of time. • Reading Schrödinger's biography to get some moralities is a total waste of time. • Looking for 'IISc’s new discovery on superconductivity a...

My visit to the only rat temple, maa Karni of Deshnok, Bikaner

Image
It was thrilling to the core. It was my first visit to any magnificent temple like this. I got this opportunity as part of  Abhivyakti evam Pratibha shivir  ( camp) organized for 10th-12th state merit students by RBSE board, Ajmer. Fortunately they selected Deshnok ( Abode of maa karni) for their camp for students of Bikaner division . The thing about the temple is , no matter where are you standing , walking or sitting, there is at least one black rat ( big one ) near your feet. Rat population is like that here, u won't believe but u can't take feet off the floor if you feel too unpleasant to be touched by those big black rats. So you will be walking in the funniest way for the first time in life. & Common public belief says ,  you must offer an artificial rat to mother Karni if you accidentally kill a rat while walking. Also if you see a white rat ( called 'kaba' with love) then u r super fortunate to visit Deshnok, You are free now , maa Karni will make...

Top 10 things that Indians want Americans to know :

Image
• Yoga was not invented by Madonna. Well before u guys discovered India , this land had witnessed countless no. of yogis & siddhas. Adiyogi made this science available for masses for the first time it seems. You guys came to know about it only after Vivekananda & Paramhansa Yogananda visited your place. • PETA doesn't know a thing about Jallikattu. They don't know how deeply Indians are linked to the soil and cattle. • Bollywood is not the only film & tv industry we have. Every Indian state has its own film industry. • Krishna didn't have 16000 wives. Shook off your head my friend. What am I proud of ?

Image
That I am a citizen of the land which provided the longest peaceful coexistence to all major religions of this planet . That I walk on the land of the largest democracy on the planet. That I am citizen of most ancient & continuously inhebited civilization That I born on a land where people never went outside to inavade other societies & colonize them . That I consume the water & food from a land which still welcomes the people who colonized this land 71 years ago. That I popped up from a land where creatures of all skin colors, cultures , dresses, ideologies, belief systems are coexisting without any major problem. That I walk on the land which never hid its dark sides from the larger world unlike China hiding its slums & UK hiding its colonizing rule from their school children. That I walk on a land that produced millions of mystic s, yogis, sages, seers, saints, singers, dancers, poets, mathematicians and even surgeons when nobody imagined it. Yes I ...

Pointless traditions still existing in my region

Image
I shall be talking about the ones existing in my region i.e. rural northern Rajasthan & western Haryana ( i.e.  baagar ). (All the mathematics & economics written here lies in lower middle class context.)  (For ladies) You must put on your veils ( have  ghoonghat ) in presence of all men & senior women at your  sasural  . By  sasural  I mean the entire village. It's considered a sign of respect. But in your  maayka , it's not needed. They have known your respect since your birth. It's a bit difficult to understand how men can always  ghoonghat lessly express respect towards others. Pic: from  Google  )  Everytime you visit your daughter /granddaughter in her sasural, you must give 50 or 100 rupees to her, her  saas ( सास),  kaaker   saas, taayer saas, maamer saas, buaaer saas,  all  saas ', her  nanads  and other married/unmarried girls around. If you r a boy yet & hap...

One of 'Most indian thing ever'

"   She is my real sister.” This won't make sense to a westerner. Because for them a sister is real sister only. All others can't be sisters. Cousin at most. In Bharat, we have chacheri, mameri & fuferi sisters and then the real sisters. English is such a poor language , they don't have words for all my other lovely sisters . For all my lovely chachi, taai, bua, maami & maasi they don't have words.. everyone is an ‘aunt' & this word is feelingless…and dry. You are sitting with eyes closed , they say u r meditating. But you can do so many things with eyes closed : japa, thapa, shoonya, Dhyana, dharana, samadhi or may be u r trying sleep with spine erect. People have spent their life beautifully with eyes closed , just chanting “ ram -ram” within. English..Ufff. I feel, we must bring these words in English dictionary before my children come on this planet.
